ABOUT THE LAW FIRM:
The Law Firm of Burke,
Burke & Burke began in 1928 as a one person firm. Since that time the firm has increased in size and scope.
The Immigration Section was inaugurated in 1968 when Richard A. Burke joined the firm and has been in full operation since.
It consists of three attorneys plus one attorney of counsel focusing exclusively on deportation work. In addition, there
are five Legal Assistants and one accountant-office manager.
We perform pro bono work for indigent clients
but only if referred by a religious or not for profit organization.
During the summer months, it is the policy
of the firm to accept one intern who is interested in the field of Immigration Law. We’re proud to be available
as mentors to other lawyers.
While it is almost impossible to set an estimate on the number of clients who have
obtained their Permanent Residence and United States Citizenship through the firm, it would be a reasonable calculation to
state they would number in the thousands and their countries or origin are throughout the world – from A to Z: Australia
to Zambia and all the countries in between.
Mr. Burke worked as a Social Worker for the State and City of New York
before entering the practice of law.
